On Friday in the Science Lab, my grade 7 class brought their learning off the page as they changed ice cubes into water vapour. There was a great deal of excitement in the air as they watched their ice melt, and then saw their water boil; demonstrating how matter can change between states. Students noted the temperature of the water at each minute during the experiment. Today we will examine our results and plot a graph showing the changes in temperature and state of matter over time.
