Week of April 19-22

I hope that everyone had a safe and happy long weekend. I cannot believe that we already halfway through the month of April and that there are only a little more than two months left in our school year. More details about end of year events such as our semi formal dance should be available in the coming days.

Students are reminded to continue to take their tests each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Now here is a snapshot into our learning for another four day week…

French-This week we will finish up our interviews and begin the revision and editing process. Students will also have the chance to respond to the movie we watched before the long weekend, giving their ideas and opinions about what they saw. Finally, we will continue reading our read aloud novel “Noémie: Le secret de Madame Lumbago” and if times permits, start “tasting” novels for our upcoming book club.

Science-During each class this week, students will be working on their learning centres for our unit on space.

Grade 9 Science-Students will write their assessment on the reproductive system later on this week. That being said, much of this week will be spent reviewing the characteristics of this system.

Grade 7 Science-These next few classes, we will be exploring the spheres of our planet, looking at the lithosphere, the hydrosphere and finally the atmosphere in detail.

Grade 9 English Science-Tomorrow, students will write their electrostatics assessment (Chapter 10) and then begin to take a look at our next section on current electricity.

Have a fabulous week!
